Fair Time

I asked Taylor several months ago if we could go to the Arizona State Fair in October. He asked why I wanted to go, as if I were crazy.  I said, I love fairs! I want to see the pigs and eat funnel cakes. And then he said, oh I've never had a funnel cake.  This is when I realized I really did marry a city boy! Never had a funnel cake? So once we arrived it was my mission to find him one.

First we ate some delicious fair food, the navajo taco.....

Then we headed over to watch the motocross show. I've never seen one before, and it scared me every time they did their flips and jumps. So cool.

We watched the hypnotist show, which was our favorite. And we ran into this, which Taylor was so excited about....

Finally I found him a funnel cake, I think I was more excited for him to eat it then he was to eat it.
But he loved it! (and so did I)

Taylor admitted that he had a great time and fairs were much more fun than he thought! I converted him:)

Fall

It's cold here today. When I say cold, I mean the high is 75 degrees and overcast. I've never been happier in my sweater and long pants. I just had to share my excitement.

TV Week

Hasn’t this week been great so far? With all the TV shows back and new ones too, it’s hard for me to complain, unless its about how big my belly is.  Last night I was so excited for Glee and the New Girl.  Glee was somewhat of a disappointment, but I won’t give up on it yet. The New Girl was so funny; Taylor and I loved it.  Taylor commented the whole time how I act just like her, which I’m going to go ahead and take as a good thing, because I think that’s how he meant it.  I’m definitely going to have to come up with my own theme song though….”it’s Chels!”

I’m super pumped for X-Factor tonight, while Taylor is exited for Modern Family (not my favorite).  This does bring up the point the Taylor and I have spent some time apart this week, since we don’t really agree on too many shows.  So I’m usually on the bed and Taylor’s on the couch.

As for Thursday, well Project Runway has been going for sometime now, but there is a new series, Person of Interest by Lost creator that I am interested to check out.  I like anything from JJ Abrams, I think.  I hope it’s good.  Enough TV talk, but what can I say, I love TV!

Next week we do finally FINALLY finally get to find out what the baby’s gender is, so be watching for some fabulously pink or blue post from us!  I’m getting eager to buy things, so I’ve got some cute boy clothes (star wars and batman onesies), which I will “bling out” with rhinestones, if it’s a girl.  We also picked up our stroller and car seat last week, which is already assembled and ready to go.  I guess we’re exited!

Oh I wanted you to all know how fabulous I have it with Taylor.  I’ve been having some hip/tailbone and neck pain a lot lately.  I’ve been going to the Chiropractor pretty regualarly to try to get things back inline. Yesterday I was pretty down and sad about it and as my growing tummy, so I came home to my sweet husbands surprise!  Wrapped in an old wedding bag, but still amazing.  It included:  men’s basketball shorts (since I keep stealing his), funny t-shirts (big enough to not touch my tummy), my new favorite craving (Quaker Chewy Dipps, they’re so good!), bath bubbles, and an awesome massager (I think Taylor is tired of massaging my neck).  He really made me feel better.  He really is too nice to me.

The Pregnancy Post

For the sake of blogging I figured I better do this.  One day it will be fun to show our 1st born how excited we were for his/her entrance into the world!   We're so excited for this little one to come along, even though we have quite a bit to go still.  I'm due on February 23rd and I wish it were tomorrow, but I'm sure we have to wait 9 months for a reason. So we're enjoying the pregnancy for now... well now that I am in the 2nd trimester I can enjoy it, the 1st one wasn't exactly fun. But that's in the past and I'm feeling great.  We are happy to be blessed with a baby and how it will change our lives forever.

This is at 8.5 weeks. We go back on the 8th to hopefully find out the sex. I have no idea what what it is, no feeling at all.  I guess we'll see.

Taylor and I rewound it about 20 times to see. I've taken to twitter to find out anything. I'm so excited! I'll keep you all updated don't worry.

I Survived, but I'm Crazy?

I survived flip flop frenzy today. My legs ache and my necks sore, but I survived.  No fights this year and they didn't break the door in this time either (yes both those things have happened in the past).

I found this receipie the other day and was so excited.  It looks so yummy.  But no one else seems to be as excited as me.  Am i crazy?

Lemon Buddies from Come Together Kids

INGREDIENTS:
9 cups Rice Chex
1 1/4 cups white chocolate chips
1/4 cup butter
4 tsp. grated lemon peel
2 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
2 cups powdered sugar

DIRECTIONS:
Measure your cereal into a large bowl and set aside.

Grate your lemon and squeeze out your fresh lemon juice.

Put your lemon peel, lemon juice, white chocolate chips and butter in a microwave safe bowl and microwave on high for 1 minute.  Stir, then microwave another 30 seconds or so until it's all melted and well combined when you stir.

Pour the lemon mixture over your cereal and stir gently to coat the cereal.

Put about half the cereal mixture in a gallon size Ziploc bag, add one cup of powdered sugar, then add the rest of the cereal and the other cup of powdered sugar.

Tightly seal up the bag and shake to coat the cereal with sugar.

Spread on waxed paper to cool, then store in an air-tight container.

Flip. Flop. Frenzy.

I work at Old Navy once a month or so.  It's a pretty good gig.  The second craziest day of the year at Old Navy is tomorrow.  I guess $1 flip flops are worth getting out of bed at 4am to stand in line for 3 hours for.  I'm praying for patience.
